Yarra Valley

Yarra Valley is a charming area of alternating eucalyptus forests and tree ferns, interesting for its beautiful old farms, small villages and lovely gardens. It is a beautiful and peaceful region, and on every suitable slope there are endless rows of vineyards. The Yarra Valley is half an hour’s drive northeast of Melbourne, famous for its vineyards, it is also home to about 30 small wineries, perhaps the best in the province of Victoria.

General Information

Many people come here to explore the valley and visit the wineries. The area is known for great restaurants, some located right in the vineyards. Yering Station is located on the site of the first local vineyard, planted back in 1838. The restaurant’s glass walls allow you to enjoy the beauty of the valley. It is possible to visit all the vineyards and arrange tastings, and whether you come individually or as part of a group.

Warburton, a lovely town on the Yarra River (Upper Yarra), is located at the start of the 80 km long Upper Yarra Trail. Small hikes can be made, or arrangements can be made for a five or six day itinerary.
