Here reigns a democratic atmosphere, uniting lovers of rest “savage”. The surroundings of Veselovka are very much liked by those who prefer a secluded pastime in nature with a minimum of amenities. A big plus is also considered to be quite low prices for accommodation.

.

Tourist season in Veselovka begins in late May and lasts until October. The village is popular with fans of beach recreation. A strip of beautiful sandy beaches stretches along the southern tip of the Taman Peninsula almost to Anapa.

Salt Lake

West of Veselovka spreads Salt Lake, having the size of 1.5 km by 1 km. The natural reservoir is shallow, only 10 cm, and was formed due to the drying up of a single Kuban estuary, which existed on the peninsula in the early XIX century. At that time, the main channel of the Kuban River flowed into the estuary. By the mid-19th century, the water area of the Kuban estuary had shrunk to several small salt estuaries, including the Kiziltash and Bugazsky estuaries. Later, the Salt Lake was formed from part of the Bugazsky liman.

.

In 1911 on the reservoir founded Tuzlyanskaya Cossack mud cure, designed for 60 people. The buildings of the cure have not survived – only piles rising above the shore remained from it. Until the middle of the last century, table salt was mined in the lake, and the annual output reached 20 thousand tons.

.

At the height of summer, the reservoir dries up and can be crossed dry. At this time, the surface of the lake is covered with a crust of white salt crystals, and underneath them is a layer of therapeutic hydrogen sulfide mud, reaching 0.5 meters deep.

.

Mud from the Salt Lake has therapeutic properties, and is used in sanatoriums and preventoriums in Anapa and Gelendzhik. The minerals included in its composition make it possible to treat skin diseases, and it is also very helpful for those who suffer from joint diseases. Nowadays, tourists from Veselovka and other resorts of the Taman Peninsula go to the Salt Lake.

.

Active recreation on the estuary

Veselovka lies on the shore of the Kiziltashskolo Liman, stretching between Anapa and Taman and separated from the sea area by the narrow Bugazskaya Spit. During the summer season the salty water body warms up to +30 °С. Here they raise fish fry, which are then released into the Black Sea.

.

Despite the knee-deep water, it is quite possible to swim in the estuary. But not beach recreation attracts travelers here. Most tourists come to the estuary to windsurfing and kitesurfing. The surrounding terrain, the peculiarities of the climate of the Taman Peninsula and smooth winds “as from a fan” create almost ideal conditions for skiing. On the shallow Kiziltash estuary beginners hone their technique, and the expanses of the Black Sea are open for experienced athletes.

.

To master the skills of safe riding help instructors kiting and surfing schools. They work in Veselovka from spring to fall, using the international methodology IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) and equipment firms “Airush” and “M-Day”. Beaches of Veselovka

Most of the time beach lovers spend on the golden sand-covered Bugazskaya spit, which lies between the estuary and the Black Sea. The narrow spit stretches for 12 km to the village Blagoveshchenskaya and has a width of 50 to 300 meters. These places are liked by many, as the entrance to the water is everywhere gentle, there is no algae and boulders.

.

Swim and sunbathe on the spit from the Black Sea, and the part of the coast, which faces the Kiziltash estuary is used by surfers for training. There is no vegetation on the whole spit, except for thickets of reeds and rare bushes, so there is little shade. To solve this problem, experienced travelers stock up on sun umbrellas, awnings or canopies.

.

On the beaches of Bugazskaya spit ride quad bikes, there are several cafes, and there are two campsites. Many tourists spend their days in Veselovka fishing, catching mullet, flounder and pilengas, and some like to collect mussels on flooded barges.

On the embankment between the lake and the Black Sea shore there are changing cabins, toilets, showers, shade shelters and many stores selling resort goods, food and drinks. Here you can have lunch in a cafe and have a good time on water attractions – ride on “pills” and “bananas”, go down into the sea with inflatable slides, as well as rent jet skis and catamarans.

.

West of the beach at the Salt Lake begins a long strip of wild beaches, stretching for several kilometers to the village of Volna. A real paradise for lovers of secluded rest! It is also convenient that it is easy to get to any favorite part of the coastal strip by car. Wild beaches are quite wide, and on the open areas there are whole tent cities. However, there are also places where it is dangerous to be due to the collapsing shoreline.

To accommodate auto tourists and those who prefer to spend their vacations in a tent, two campsites are open on Bugazskaya Spit. In this camping site there is a typical set of services: paid accommodation on the territory, toilets and showers. The sea in the area of “Bugazskaya kosa” is clean and warm, and dolphins are frequent guests near the shore. However, there are some inconveniences. There is no drinking water in the campsite, and you have to go to Blagoveshchenskaya for it.

.

On its territory hold mass festivals, concerts and other holidays, which every year attract a lot of guests to Veselovka.
