Parc de Ranomafana National Park

Parc de Ranomafana is a famous national park in Madagascar, located in the central part of the country, near the village of the same name. In 1986, a new species, the golden bamboo lemur, was discovered here. In this regard, a few years later, the government of Madagascar decided to create a reserve, which has now become one of the most important conservation areas of the country. Its territory of 410 square kilometers is covered with mountainous tropical forests. The soils here are very fertile – they are saturated by the moisture of the river Namorona, which flowing from the uplands, forms numerous – and extremely picturesque – waterfalls.
