Millennium Bridge in Kazan
Millennium Bridge holds the title of the highest bridge in Kazan and forms part of the existing highway – the Small Kazan Ring. The unremarkable letter “M”, from which thin “strings” of supporting cables diverge, transforms at nightfall, as if by magic. Bright illumination together with the lights of lanterns makes the Millennium a colorful object of night Kazan. Routes of sightseeing tours always touch this part of the city, so that tourists can enjoy the majestic construction of a kilometer and a half long.
.Of course, the design of the Millennium Bridge is not comparable in beauty with the famous bridges of the world, but this does not prevent Kazan residents to speak with awe and pride about one of the city’s main attractions. The first thing they advise is to wait until dusk to enjoy the straight lines of the bridge in the light of night lights and, walking along the pedestrian sidewalk, to look at Kazan from a different perspective. Few tourists realize what makes the Millennium so remarkable, but the evening promenade fundamentally changes the first impression of the bridge crossing the left tributary of the Volga – the Kazanka River.
