Traful Lake
Traful Lake is a picturesque body of water located in the province of Neuquén, south of the Nahuel Huapi Natural Park. The lake has a total area of 70 km². It is the source of the river of the same name, which is very similar to the 400-kilometer-long water ribbon that connects Traful to another famous body of water of Nahuel Huapi.
.For more than half a century, the Traful underwater forest has become one of the most visited places in Patagonia, and one of the most wanted natural landscapes among photographers from around the world.
.The main feature of this lake is that it contains forest cypress trees growing underwater and reaching 35 meters in height.

Diving underwater, tourists find themselves in a stunning underwater world, where many trees grow directly from the bottom of the lake. Not far from the lake is a 102-meter cliff, from the observation deck of which you can enjoy equally impressive scenery of the surrounding area.

.History of the origin of the lake
This unique place was created by an earthquake in 1960, when a slope full of cypress trees broke away and plunged into the lake. Strangely enough these trees took root, and today more than sixty specimens that changed the mountainous underwater life of the lake are still alive. In addition, cypress is one of the oldest known plant species and its wood is extremely durable, so it is safe to say that this forest will survive for many more years to come.
