Lake Son-Kul
Lake Son-Kul is wedged in a basin between the inner spurs of the Tien Shan in Kyrgyzstan. The 278 km² water body is located between the Sonkeltau and Moldotau ridges, at an altitude of 3016 m above sea level, in the northwestern part of the Naryn region. The color of the water surface of Lake Son-Kul changes depending on the time of day, becoming deep blue, purple-blue, or lush green. The reservoir is inhabited by various fish species, including whitefish, teal, pelada, osman and loach. Around the lake there are picturesque pastures.
