Jardin Blonier in Smolensk

Blonier Garden is a park in the center of Smolensk, laid out in 1830. The park gained great fame after one of the first monuments in Russia – a monument to M. I. Glinka – was unveiled here in 1885. After the end of the Great Patriotic War, German trophies – a statue of a deer and two lions – appeared in Blonje. The attraction of the park is a musical fountain, from which pedestrian paths go off in different directions. In 2011-2012, the most unique trees in the park, whose age exceeded 100 years, were partially cut down by order of the City Administration, which changed the appearance of the Blonier Garden. But despite everything, the city park continues to be a favorite place of rest for Smolensk citizens and tourists.
