Church in Pavlodar (Annunciation Cathedral)
The Church in Pavlodar is a picturesque Orthodox church consecrated in honor of the Annunciation and opened in October 1999 near the green park of the Third Millennium, on the Irtysh embankment. The beautiful seven-domed church is built of red brick. Three more small domes crown the belfry. The main cross rises to a height of 51 meters, thanks to which the majestic temple can be seen from afar.
General information
The church in Pavlodar has the status of a cathedral, that is, the main church of the local diocese. It consists of a tall main volume and altar apses located on the eastern side. From the west to the temple adjoins a graceful belfry, on which hang 9 bells, brought to Kazakhstan from Moscow. The smallest of them weighs 4 kg, and the largest weighs 1024 kg.

Of great interest is the roof of the church, made at one of their Novosibirsk enterprises. It was made of galvanized iron and covered with protective polymer film. The domes are covered with golden metal, and therefore shine beautifully in the sun.

History of the construction of the church in Pavlodar
Blessing for the construction of the church in Pavlodar from the head of the local diocese was received in 1990. Three years later, the construction of the church began on the allotted plot of land. However, for a number of reasons, the builders only had time to lay monolithic slabs, and construction was suspended.

On the initiative of the city authorities, construction work continued in 1998, and in 1999 the new church was consecrated. By this time it was already hanging bells made in Sofrino near Moscow. The Annunciation Cathedral became the second Orthodox church of the Kazakh city and in 2002 received the status of a monument of history and culture.
