Casa Batlló (House of Bones)

Casa Batlló is an unusual architectural monument that is located in the center of Barcelona, in the Eixample district, on Avenida Paseo de Gracia. This building is a residential house built in 1877 and reconstructed in 1904-1906 by the brilliant Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. Casa Batlló is an example of Art Nouveau architecture of the early 20th century and is quite a visited attraction of the city. Barcelonans call it the “House of Bones”, as the curved architectural forms resemble parts of the skeleton of a mythological animal.
