Berlin Cathedral
Berlin Cathedral combined elements of Neo-Baroque and Neo-Renaissance. Erecting a Protestant church building, architect J. Rashdorf used sketches of the Catholic St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome (1894-1905). The height of the main vault is 98 meters. The cathedral can accommodate more than 2000 people, during important services in it has always been a lot of believers, especially during Christmas, when the Kaiser and his family were necessarily present.

In the crypts of the cathedral 97 sarcophagi of electors, bishops, members of the Hohenzollern dynasty have been preserved. The Kaiser’s box, the font (sculptor C. D. Rauch, 1833) and the altar partition (architect C. F. Schinkel) were executed with great skill.
>During World War II, the cathedral suffered significant damage and was only rebuilt in 1974. The cathedral has excellent acoustics and often hosts concerts, including organ concerts. Lustgarten, U-Bahn Friedrichstrasse, Hausvogteiplatz, S-Bahn Hackescher Markt.
