Baba Vida Fortress
Baba Vida Fortress is a medieval castle in the town of Vidin in northwestern Bulgaria. The fortress was built in the second half of the tenth century on the site of a Roman fortification and for a long time served as a defense of the city. The Baba Vida Fortress became a battleground, held long sieges and was rebuilt at the request of new owners. The appearance of the fortress changed when its purpose changed as well. Nowadays it is a museum and the main attraction of the city of Vidin, which is loved by many tourists.
