The Yellow Sea is a semi-enclosed sea of the Pacific Ocean off the east coast of Asia west of the Korean Peninsula.

General Information

It washes the coasts of China, the DPRK and the Republic of Korea. It covers an area of 416,000 km², with the greatest depth of 106 meters. The surface water temperature in the northwestern part of the sea in February is below 0 °C, and in its southern part from 6 to 8 °C. In August, the surface water temperature in the northern part of the Yellow Sea reaches 24 ° C, and in its southern part – 28 ° C.
