Wineglass Bay
Wineglass Bay is one of Tasmania’s most beautiful harbors, the bay is named for its flawless, eye-like shape. It is located off the rocky coast of the Freycinet Peninsula on Tasmania’s east coast. The bay is framed by a white sandy beach surrounded by cliffs that appear orange due to the lichens growing on them. It is also home to the Freycinet Peninsula National Park. The peninsula’s granite mountains drop sharply into shining blue bays.

Tourist Information
The peninsula is known for its pleasant mild climate and surprisingly beautiful coastline.
The peninsula has many hiking trails that hikers love, but there is very little water, so you will have to carry all fresh water with you – also try not to drink water from streams, as this can cause problems. The hiking trails start right from the parking lot, where you can go up to the observation deck or down to the beach – it takes five hours to get there and back. Another interesting way to see the bay is to join an organized cruise or hire a boat from Coles Bay in the northern part of the park.
