Vorontsovsky Park in Moscow
Vorontsovsky Park is located in the southwestern part of Moscow, on Architektor Vlasov Street. This is a very special territory, as if by magic attracting Muscovites and guests of the capital. Highlights
The area of Vorontsov Park exceeds 40 hectares. The territory includes:
.- the ensemble of the front entrance, consisting of a bridge, watchtowers, arched gates, guardhouses;
- the old manor house and service wings;
- the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity with a functioning Sunday school;
- greenhouse, built in the XIX century;
- a cascade of five ponds built in the XVIII century;
- several labyrinths – stone, manor, forest, serpentine labyrinth with an observation platform;
- Italian garden, located on a complex terrain and disposes to secluded strolls;
- a miniature Chinese Garden, offering the opportunity to practice yoga in stylized gazebos;
- a variety of playgrounds for guests of all ages – children’s playgrounds, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, gymnastic exercises and others;
- a unique oak grove with trees over 200 years old. .
History of the Vorontsovo Estate
Vorontsovsky Park was opened in 2007. But the history of these lands began to unfold much earlier – more than 7 centuries ago.

.Until the XV century, the territory on which the estate was later built, belonged to the Vorontsovs – representatives of the famous boyar family, originating from the boyar F. V. Voronets. In honor of the famous family name the land and received its first name – Vorontsovskoye.

In 1802, the daughter of a field marshal general, A. N. Volkonskaya, became the owner of the Vorontsovo estate. Under her appeared the church of the Holy Trinity, rebuilt from the tower of the Turkish fortress, there was a greenhouse and some other buildings.

From the middle of XIX to the beginning of XX century the estate changed owners 7 times:
.- 1830. – Transfer of the land to N. V. Repnin-Volkonsky. This is the grandson of A. N. Volkonsky, who owned the estate for only 7 years;
- 1837 – sale of the territory to S. I. Mukhanov. The active Privy Councillor closely engaged in greenhouse and greenhouse farms and maximized their expansion; .
- 1867 – sale of the estate to G. M. Sushkin;
- 1890 – acquisition of the property by TD “Carl Thiel and Co.”. Five years later, new buildings appeared on the territory – wooden summer houses; .
- 1908 – purchase of the Vorontsovo estate by A. I. Vakhrushev. It was he who interfered with the repair of the public road that had turned into a swamp and passed through the estate, but he lost the case; .
- 1911. – sale of the estate to E. A. Grunbaum. The new owner cherished the dream of making Vorontsov a holiday village and soon began to rent buildings for summer houses. Also Grunbaum gave orders to establish a brick factory, barracks for workers, icehouse, office and kitchen, pantry with cellars; .
- 1913. – transfer of the estate to N. M. Pyltsov. .
After the Revolution
As records in the documents of 1918 say, at that time Vorontsovo belonged to the society “Culture of the Land”. It is not surprising that the estate and other buildings were treacherously looted and partially destroyed – a similar fate befell a great number of estates.
