Viking Ship Museum (Vikingskipshuset)

Viking Ship Museum is located on the Bjugde Peninsula within Oslo. It is the most famous attraction of the Norwegian capital. It houses three surviving rooks dating back to the 10th century, as well as everyday objects of Scandinavian seafarers. The museum was established in 1926 and the building was designed by Arnstein Arneberg, one of Norway’s best architects.

Tourists to Note

There is a fee to visit the Viking Ship Museum, an adult ticket costs 60 kroner, a concession ticket costs 35 kroner, and a child ticket costs 30 kroner. Children under 6 years old can enter the museum building completely free of charge. It is possible to buy a “family” ticket for two adults and one child – for it you have to pay 140 crowns. From May to September the institution is open from 09.00 to 18.00, in all other months – from 10.00 to 16.00. There is free Wi-Fi, QR codes and useful information for tourists. You can come here with the whole family – children will have something to do in the museum.
