Tanjung Benoa
Tanjung Benoa is actually a narrow strip of land stretching northward in extension to Nusa Dua. It is a relatively young resort with a beautiful beach and the “Bumbu Bali” restaurant, one of the best on the island. From the small port of “Benua Harbor” (“Benua Harbor”) depart boats to neighboring Nusa Lembongan, as well as the islands of Gili and Lombok. Water clarity is not at all favorable.
.Hotels Tanjung Benoa – for those who are dead tired of the everyday office hustle and bustle and just want to sleep and lie on the beach. Actually, not the worst wish and not the worst place to fulfill it. A healthy beach sleep in the shade of umbrellas can be diluted with water sports, fishing and a visit to an ancient Chinese temple built by fishermen. A cab ride from the center of Nusa Dua to the hotels in Tanjung Benoa will cost about Rp 30,000 – and that’s the price you pay for peace and quiet. Not that expensive in our rattling and hectic age.

ContentsRecreational facilities
The local peculiarity is the absence of nightlife as such, a wide network of off-location restaurants and other recreation infrastructure – all of it is concentrated inside the hotels. On the other hand, there are the best spa centers and golf courses for the wealthy public.

The history of this club began in 1994, and after 3 years its courses were recognized as one of the best in the world. Competitions of the highest level are regularly held here. The playing space consists of three 18-hole courses with their own streams, lakes, tropical gardens where exotic birds sing, and hills with coconut palms. All of these surroundings are of only the highest quality, with unparalleled ocean views. The club’s service is not limited exclusively to golf, there is a SPA-center, several luxury villas for guests, and a restaurant. The cost of a game day is $175 per person, including transportation, equipment and caddie services. Afternoon play from 3 p.m. will cost $70.
.Spa, massage and thalassotherapy
Almost every hotel in Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa offers its own spa. Their quality is famous throughout the world, and prices are high only by local standards and ridiculous against the background of Moscow analogs. The oldest and most famous SPA-center is opened in the hotel “Nusa Dua Beach” (tel. (0361) 771-210), with the cost of procedures starting from $80. At the Taman Sari Hotel, they cost almost twice as much (tel. (0361) 773-953).
.“Thalasso Bali”
Jl. Pratama 74, Tanjung Benoa.(0361)772-148www.thalassobali.com
This high-class SPA-center is located in the hotel “Grand Mirage Resort” (Tanjung Benoa). It occupies a giant area of 5 square kilometers and is a whole factory of health. The first thalasso-resort in SEA, the center offers 11 programs under French license, lasting from two to five hours. After paying $115, you can choose any three treatments and refresh yourself in the whirlpool. The list includes a mint salt scrub, seaweed body wrap, and facials. The exotic names of the programs alone make ladies delighted: “Renewal Day”, “Ying-Yang Cave”, “Brown Cloud”, “Green Morning”…. The most expensive of them, designed for 5 hours, includes hydromassage, wraps, scrub, seaweed masks, manicure, snacks in the cafe. A great reason for men to send their significant other away for half a day and really relax!

.“The same eggs, but viewed from the side and 3 times cheaper,” – the clients of this SPA-salon in Nusa Dua, comparing it with its prior competitors. Indeed, with less exquisite decorations it provides quite qualitative services of a real SPA. Procedures cost from $20.
.Water sports
If the nightlife in Nusa Dua is bad, the daytime sea life is much better. Dive and surf clubs have settled on the coast, offering instruction, equipment and transportation. There are many in Tanjung Benoa; the most famous is Yos Marine Adventures (Jl. Pratama, 106, tel. (0361) 773-774). The area around the Aston Hotel has become the base for six clubs and centers that offer every conceivable pleasure above, on, and under the water: BMR Watersport, Baruna Dive, Leo’s Watersport, Tony Marlindo Seasport, Panca Sari Dive, and Bali Coral Dive. Divers are taken to the nearby island of Nusa Lebongan with its coral gardens and other places at will, surfers – on the waves one kilometer from the coastline of Nusa Dua.
.Prices for water sports like parasailing and jet-skiing bite ($15-20 for 10-15 min), but this is normal for the most expensive resort. Fishing is another popular activity at Tanjung Benoa, with a fishing village nearby. Outings can be arranged with the seafarers on your own or you can buy a “fish spot tour” starting at $60. All self-respecting hotels in Nusa Dua have their own sports clubs offering the above range of services – at hotel prices, of course.
.Restaurants
As a rule, every hotel in Nusa Dua has several restaurants and cafes offering a variety of cuisines, from traditional Balinese to Japanese and Mediterranean. Prices are off the charts and do not differ from those in Moscow, so many people prefer to dine in Kuta, where they go for an evening promenade. A lot of small restaurants are concentrated along Jl. Pratama, you should only leave the hotel and cross the road. The food there is also not bad, and the cost of dishes is 2 times lower than in the fast food. Another cluster of inexpensive restaurants mixed with souvenir stores – Jl. Mengiat, the best choice for a promenade and a hearty dinner near the hotels “Ayodya” and “Inna Putri Bali”.
.Shopping
The opportunities for this women’s sport in Nusa Dua are few. Apart from one main center, we can mention several “art markets”, which are a collection of stalls with standard souvenirs that are better bought in Ubud and Kuta. First and foremost is the market at the main entrance gate to the resort, by the Melia Bali Hotel, and in Tanjung Benoa opposite the Princess Nusa Dua Hotel.”
.Bali Collection Shopping Center
Kawasan Pariwisata Nusa Dua.Komplek BTDC, between the Melia Bali and Grand Hyatt hotels.(0361)771-6629am to late afternoon.Opened in 2005, it has become Nusa Dua’s premier shopping arena. The large fenced and heavily guarded area is filled with small pavilions of souvenirs, woodwork, art and clothing. The chic hall of the main department store “Sogo” is packed with cosmetics and clothes of famous brands at surprisingly reasonable prices for this resort. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes offering a variety of food, from fine Japanese cuisine to garbage fast food burgers. In the evenings, performances of traditional touristy Balinese dances are given. The Bali Galleria shopping center has its own separate entrance on the west side, while Sogo and Discovery have their own entrance on the east side, closer to the hotels and beach. Nearby you can see a platform from which a balloon with the Nusa Dua logo regularly soars into the sky. It not only gives you the opportunity to observe the amazing panorama of the resort, but also to show the world your purchases. All the main hotels are accessible by foot, cab or shuttle bus.
