Rostov Borisoglebsky Monastery

Rostov Borisoglebsky Monastery is a monastery located on the road from Rostov to Uglich. The male Orthodox monastery is part of the Golden Ring of Russia, is a monument of history and culture and is under state protection. The date of foundation of the monastery is considered to be 1363. The architectural complex of the Boris and Gleb Monastery was fully developed in pre-Petrine times, when it was one of the richest in the Rostov Metropolitanate, and it was considered “home” to the Moscow princes and the first Russian tsars. After the XVII century its appearance remained almost unchanged.
