Palace of Justice

The Palace of Justice is a huge building of 26,000 m² and 104 m high. The palace was built between 1866 and 1883, commissioned by King Leopold II, known for his ambitious projects to develop the city. The dome of the palace of justice is 24,000 tons. The structure has a total of 8 courtyards, 27 large and 245 small courtrooms and other rooms. The hill on which the complex stands offers a beautiful view of the city, the building itself is said to be visible from any elevation in Brussels.
