Ostafyevo Estate Museum

Ostafyevo Museum Estate is located in Podolsk district of Moscow region. Prince Andrei Ivanovich Vyazemsky bought the estate in 1792, in honor of the birth of his son Peter, a future poet and literary critic, a friend of Alexander Pushkin. The Ostafievo estate became the literary center of Moscow, where the key figures of the Golden Age of Russian poetry gathered. Since 1899 the Pushkin Museum worked in Ostafievo, in the 1930s it was liquidated, and in 1988 the estate received the status of a federal museum. In 1995 the former Vyazemsky-Sheremetev estate was included in the list of objects of historical and cultural heritage of federal significance. The centerpiece is a two-story house crowned with a belvedere in the style of Russian classicism, located on the shore of the lake.
