General Information

The most famous natural attraction of Los Cabos is the majestic rock “El Arco”. El Arco is a huge granite arch. It is the place where the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet. El Arco is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a symbol of the city itself.

Despite accelerated development in the last decade, Cabo San Lucas is still considered one of the world’s most laid-back resorts. The beaches here are gorgeous, with the sun dipping at sunset and painting them pink, yellow and orange colors. Naturalists come here to watch turtles or birds, or just to collect shells by the water. The magnificent landscape – a mix of untouched desert, white sandy beaches and interesting rock formations – includes the famous “Arch,” a famous geological formation where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.

Two cities on the edge of the Baja Peninsula are most often referred to as Los Cabos, although they are very different. San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas are separated by only 30 kilometers, but they are very different. Cabo San Lucas mainly hosts sporting events and festivities, while San José del Cabo remains a quiet and peaceful Mexican town.

For many decades, this colonial town was the only settlement in these parts, home to various Indian communities, and in 1730 Spanish colonization began and a Jesuit mission was established.San Jose del Cabo is traditional Mexico: beautiful sidewalks with trees stretching to the windows of the houses, small cafes, smiling locals and a leisurely pace of life. It is a beautiful city, as if it came out of a fairy tale, with exhibitions and concerts of traditional Mexican orchestras. Along the boulevards are stucco-covered, quaint colonial-style buildings with columns, courtyards and shops.
