Озеро Маныч-Гудило

Lake Manych-Gudilo is a large body of water located in southern Russia, in the center of the Kumo-Manych Depression. The lake is located at the junction of three federal subjects: the Republic of Kalmykia, Stavropol Krai and Rostov Oblast. The area of Lake Manych-Gudilo is 344 km². Its unusual name is derived from the words “bitter” (manych) and “humming” (gudilo). The emergence of the reservoir was the result of tectonic processes, due to which the ancient channel connecting the Black and Caspian seas disappeared. Water in Lake Manych-Gudilo is 2 times saltier than water in the Black Sea, but its useful properties are not affected. People do not come here for treatment, there are few fish in the very salty water of the lake, but these places are incredibly beautiful and wild. Watching mustangs running along the shore, as if you are transported to a special pristine world.
