Hong Kong Disneyland is a popular entertainment complex; the smallest of five Disneylands built around the planet. The theme and amusement park opened in 2005. Hong Kong Disneyland gets a lot of tourists and most visitors come here from mainland China, Malaysia, India, and the Philippines.

Highlights

You can walk, ride a bus and take a small train through the Disneyland area. The entertainment complex is divided into seven theme parks: the Main Street USA, Adventure World, Fantasy World, Future World, Mysterious World, Wild West, and Toy Story. In each part of Hong Kong Disneyland guests are welcomed by modern attractions, which can be interesting for both children and adults. Shows and colorful street performances are held in different places. On those attractions where tourists need an escort, they can choose a guide who speaks the appropriate language. There are no Russian-speaking guides in the park, so travelers from Russia usually travel with an English-speaking guide.

In the evenings, guests at Hong Kong Disneyland are not reduced, because at this time the famous fireworks are launched against the backdrop of Cinderella’s castle. The amusement park is open weekdays from 10.00 to 20.00, and on weekends from 10.00 to 19.00.

What to see in different parts of Disneyland

Main Street USA features buildings in the tradition of old American architecture. Many souvenir shops are located here, and all visitors can choose a memorabilia of their choice. In this part of Hong Kong Disneyland there is an animation academy, and they hold a parade of characters from popular animated films.

The park’s main attraction, Adventure World, is an entertaining Jungle Ship Cruise. Small ships sail along the river and stop near Tarzan’s island, where children can see the popular hero’s dwelling and climb the rope railing. Adventure World Park hosts a Lion King Festival show and is also home to the Liki Tikis water playground.

When visitors get to Fantasy World Park, they check out the 5D movie theater and take a trip around the world on the “This Small World” ride. The attractions at Future World Park are designed for teens and adults, and some of these rides simply won’t let kids on.

Tickets

There are several types of tickets sold for visitors to Hong Kong Disneyland. Most tourists buy “one day” tickets. They cost 589 HKD for adults from 12 to 64 years old and 419 HKD for children from 3 to 12 years old. Those who plan to spend two days on the rides are better off with a “two-day ticket”, which costs HKD 759 for adults and HKD 539 for children. Hong Kong dollars, yuan and bank cards are accepted.

Keep in mind that Hong Kong Disneyland often runs promotions during which admission tickets can be purchased at a 25% discount. Queues for tickets can be very long, so it is more advantageous to buy them in advance on the official website of the amusement park.

How to get there

Hong Kong Disneyland is located on Lantau Island, 12 kilometers from the international airport. The easiest way to get here is to take the MRT subway. For the convenience of city residents and tourists in Hong Kong, a separate branch of the “Disneyland Resort Line” was built. Specially decorated trains with windows in the form of Mickey Mouse’s head run along it. In addition, the theme park can be reached by buses and cabs.
