Highlights

There is a well-developed tourist infrastructure in the Gelendzhik microdistrict, and local hotels and guesthouses welcome vacationers throughout the year. Tourists love Goluboy Bay for the clean sea, good beaches, silence, pleasant natural surroundings and proximity to Gelendzhik attractions and entertainment. During the summer season in the village there are cafes, restaurants, as well as open several stores where you can buy necessary products and resort goods.

.

Except for swimming in the sea, in the Blue Bay is not so much entertainment, so many tourists prefer to combine beach vacation with interesting excursions along the coast and trips to Novorossiysk, Kabardinka and Gelendzhik. In the vicinity of the resort village organize horseback riding, jeeping tours and trips on quad bikes. And fans of underwater diving specially come to Goluboy Bay to snorkel with the instructors of the dive center “Sea Star.”

.

Beaches

Central and Medical beach of Blue Bay pebble. There is practically no boundary between them, so many people perceive the stretch of shore near the Yashamba River flowing into the sea as a single beach. The central beach is municipal, and Medical owns the sanatorium “Blue Bay”. All their difference is that on the Medical beach put up deck chairs and sun umbrellas with the logo of the sanatorium.

.

Along the coastline, a small promenade is built, on which cafes and retail outlets operate in the summer. Thanks to the constant coastal currents, the sea here is much cleaner than in the closed bay of Gelendzhik, so in July and August in the resort village come to swim not only tourists, but also residents of Gelendzhik. In 3 minutes walking distance from the beach are the final stop of the city bus number 3 and parking lot.

.

The beach has everything you need for a comfortable vacation – changing cabins, showers, toilets and medical center. The shore is covered with well-cut pebbles of medium size, on which it is convenient to enter the water barefoot. The depth grows quickly enough, and in 7-10 meters from the shore is already deep enough. On the beach you can rent jet skis and catamarans, ride a “tablet” or “banana”, jump on a trampoline and shoot in the shooting gallery.

.

West of the Central Beach is the beach strip of the Institute of Oceanology. There are fewer people on it, and the sea is usually cleaner. Behind the pier there is a section of wild beach, where there are no usual amenities for resort-goers, but also does not happen usual for the Central Beach crowd.

.

Another popular with vacationers beach is 15-20 minutes walk from the village development towards the airport, near the children’s skin and tuberculosis sanatorium (DCTS). Coastal currents here are stronger, so the sea water near the shore is cleaner. In the summer months on the beach of the Children’s Skin and Tuberculosis Sanatorium there are shade canopies from the sun, you can rent deck chairs and umbrellas, as well as use changing cabins. Beach strip, as well as the bottom of the sea, folded fringed pebbles of medium size, and walk on it is comfortable even for children.

.

If you walk from the Blue Cove towards the beach DKTS along Rybatskaya Street, you can go to another wild beach. It is liked by many tourists for the beautiful, steep cliffs coming close to the water.

.

Between the Blue Bay and Kabardinka begins a chain of wild beaches. These are narrow sections of the coast, covered with large and small pebbles, which are chosen by lovers of secluded recreation. By car to approach them can not, and the beaches are reached on foot along the beach.

What to do in Blue Bay

Tourists often take hikes along the coast. During them you can see beautiful pebble shoals and ledges of snow-white rocks. Resting by the sea, guests of the Blue Bay admire the sunsets and watch the hunting of cormorants. It is interesting to walk in both directions from the resort village. There are no paths along the shore, and you have to walk on the rocks. Therefore, for such walks it is better to wear sturdy shoes and just in case you have a supply of drinking water.

.

From the beach on boats you can go on boat trips. They are interesting with picturesque views of the coast and the opportunity to swim in the open sea. In addition, from the Blue Bay to the sea take lovers of fishing. Not far from the coast there are mullets, mackerels, mullet, flounder, gobies, sea bass, sprat, herring, hamsa and eels. Fish is best caught in August and September. However, in hot weather, it prefers to go deep and stay closer to the bottom.

.

Museums

Despite its small size, Blue Bay has two museums. At 44 Vzletnaya Street, there is the White Horse Gallery. Vacationers jokingly call it a “garbage museum”, because all the exhibits collected here are made of garbage – pieces of rope, wire, metal rods and used plastic bottles.

.

The idea to turn throwaway materials into works of art came from the Nikiforov family in Gelendzhik. To date, the gallery has accumulated so many exhibits that some of them are exhibited right on the street. “White Horse” is open to visitors on all days, except Monday, from 10.00 to 20.00. Children under the age of 6 can visit for free.

.

Another museum is located in Gelendzhik microdistrict Maryinsky, not far from where the exit to the Blue Bay from the M4 highway begins. It is a private gallery “Golden Straw”, created by the efforts and talent of the master and teacher Galina Sergeevna Sharipova. Interesting works, panels and jewelry made of straw are exhibited in the halls and master classes on making straw dolls and souvenirs are held. The gallery is open to visitors from 10.00 to 18.00.
