Verbilki settlement
Verbilki is an urban-type settlement located in Taldomsky District of Moscow Oblast, 90 km north of Moscow, on the Dubna River. The population of Verbiloki is about 7 thousand people. The settlement is home to the world-famous factory “Verbilok Porcelain”, founded in 1766 by English merchant Franz Gardner. The factory produces unique porcelain, which was not inferior in quality to European porcelain. The hallmark of the Verbilkakh manufactory were “name” sets decorated with the coats of arms of aristocratic families, noble crowns, monograms and monograms. For the high appreciation of the products made to the order of Catherine II, in 1785 the factory received the right to put on its products the image of the Moscow coat of arms, and in 1855, by decision of the Emperor – the State Emblem of Russia.
