Museum “Tula Spicebread”

Tula Gingerbread Museum is one of the popular themed museums in Tula, dedicated to the traditions, history and technology of production of the famous Tula gingerbread. It is believed that gingerbread in Tula began to be made long before the emergence of arms production – back in the XVII century. Records of local gingerbread were found in the scribe book for 1685. The museum exposition was created in 1996 in the wings, which used to be owned by the famous Tula gunsmiths and samovar makers Lyalins.

The exhibits of the Tula Gingerbread Museum occupy two halls, which can be walked around in 15-20 minutes. In addition to the tour, guests have a tea party with freshly baked gingerbread. The museum has a large store where they sell festive and personalized gingerbread made at the confectionery factory “Staraya Tula.”

The doors of the museum “Tula Gingerbread” are open Monday through Friday from 9.00 to 17.00, and tours are conducted from 10.00 to 16.00.

How to get there

The museum “Tula Gingerbread” is located in the house № 45B on Oktyabrskaya Street. To the building of the museum is reached by buses, shuttle buses and streetcars. You should go to the stop “Arsenalnaya Street” or “Maxim Gorky Street.”
