Swords of Qadisiyah (Victory Arch)
Swords of Qadisiyah is one of the famous monuments of Baghdad, which is a pedestal of hands holding intersecting swords, thus creating the semblance of an arch. The Swords of Qadisiyah was erected in the late 1980s to honor Saddam Hussein’s proclamation of Iraqi victory in the Iran-Iraq War.
