Plaza Mayor
Plaza Mayor is one of the central squares of Madrid, which competes with Puerta del Sol for the right to be called the main square of the Spanish capital. Bars and restaurants operate in Plaza Mayor, street musicians entertain passers-by, artists offer their paintings, vendors lure tourists with souvenirs, and every Sunday, since 1929, postage stamps, medals and coins are sold here.
