Holy Trinity Pavlo-Obnorsky Monastery
Pavlo-Obnorsky Monastery is located in the Yunoshesky village of Gryazovetsky District, Vologda Oblast. The Orthodox male monastery was founded in 1414 by St. Paul of Obnorsk, a disciple of Sergius of Radonezh. It is one of the oldest monasteries of the Russian North. The most ancient icons are collected in the monastery, especially the works of Dionisy, one of the most famous Russian icon painters. The relics of the wonderworker Pavel Obnorsky are also kept here. The most notable visitors to the monastery were Vasily III and Ivan the Terrible.”
