Nebug

Nebug is a modern village on the Black Sea coast, which is part of the Tuapse resort area and is 16 kilometers away from the city. Nebug is a major entertainment center of Tuapse district and a popular youth resort on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus with a well-developed tourist infrastructure. Its guests have access to its own water park, sports centers, ice palace and dolphinarium.

The history of Nebug began in 1864 with the construction of a settlement that housed 50 families of Cossacks guarding the coast. In translation from Adyghe language, the name “Nebug” means “wide-eyed.”

The village is small in size, and now it is home to about 4,000 people. Houses of local residents and hotels are stretched along the valley of the Nebug River for 2.5 kilometers. During the summer tourist season, the population of the resort grows several times at the expense of tourists. Rooms in hotels, mini-hotels and housing in the private sector are in high demand, so travelers going to spend their vacations in Nebug, try to book their favorite options in advance, at least 3-4 months before the start of the summer tourist season.

The village lies at the beginning of the Russian subtropics. The foothills surrounding it are very beautiful, and from spring to fall drown in greenery and flowers. The southern spurs of the Main Caucasus Ridge are covered with deciduous and pine forests, the picturesque landscape is riddled with ravines and gullies. In the valleys of mountain rivers one can see small waterfalls, and on the green slopes – bizarre rocks.

The sea in Nebug is cleaner than in large resort villages and coastal towns, and this attracts here many vacationers with children. In the village there is a free municipal beach and several equipped beach areas that belong to local sanatoriums and hotels.

Fans of active recreation come to Nebug for the sake of diving and surfing. In the village are open sports grounds and there is an excellent soccer field. On the forested slopes around Nebug popular hiking trails, as well as tours on jeeps and quad bikes. In addition, at the headwaters of the Nebug River you can see several ancient megaliths – dolmens built in the Bronze Age.

Resort village lies on the federal highway, and from here popular bus tours to the sights of the Black Sea coast. Vacationers have the opportunity to visit the famous Tenginskie and Polkovnichi waterfalls, Kiseleva Rock, museums in Tuapse and Dzhubga, entertainment centers of Sochi and even make a trip to Abkhazia.

Beaches

The municipal or central beach is located near the mouth of the Nebug River flowing into the sea. It stretches for 0.5 km and has a width of 40 to 50 meters. The beach is free and in high season is very popular with holidaymakers, especially since from the center of the village to it for 7-10 minutes is not difficult to walk.

Spacious beach area is covered with small and medium sea pebbles. The same pebbles cover the bottom at the entrance to the sea. It is well fossilized by the surf, and therefore the beach is easy to walk on even small children. At the entrance to the water depth begins to increase after 3 meters. The eastern part of the Nebug beach is considered more convenient, as there you can reach the sea on small sections of sand.

On the municipal beach created all the conditions for a pleasant vacation: rental of sun umbrellas and sun beds, free shade canopies, changing rooms, toilets and showers. There are diving and surfing stations on the beach. If desired, you can ride a “banana” or parachute behind the boat, as well as rent a jet ski. Right from the beach depart boats and boats that take tourists on exciting walks along the coast and sea fishing.

In summer, water slides and amusement rides are organized for children, and on the seafront there is an entertaining Luna Park. Near the central beach in Nebug are cafes, bars, canteens and stores selling bathing accessories and souvenirs.

From the east of the mouth of the Nebug River spread beaches belonging to the hotel “Molniya” and resort complex “Yamal”. The latter is closed and paid. Visiting the beach VIP-zone costs 150 rubles. It is interesting that on this beach there is a high-speed elevator that lifts vacationers to a height of 75 m to the observation deck. From here there is a magnificent view of Nebuga Bay and coastal hotels. Other beaches of the resort village are further away from the mouth of the river and belong to sanatoriums or hotels. Most of them are closed.

Dolphinarium

To watch a fun show of marine animals, it is not at all necessary to go to major seaside cities such as Sochi or Gelendzhik. In the summer months, Nebug has its own dolphinarium “Aqua World” (Novorossiyskoye highway, 9B). At the peak of the tourist season on the coast is hot, and therefore the seats for spectators in the dolphinarium are equipped with a large shade canopy.

Professional trainers show tourists hour-long performances with Black Sea dolphins-apalins, Pacific walruses and beluga whales. Animals perform a variety of tricks – jumping, dancing, drawing and all sorts of fun for the audience. During the show you can use your own cameras, and at the end of the show dolphinarium workers offer everyone to take pictures with the animals.

Water Park

On the opposite, left bank of the Nebug River is a popular center of water entertainment “Dolphin” (Novorossiyskoye highway, 1), in which not only residents and guests of the village like to rest. Many tourists from Tuapse and other resort places of Tuapse district come to this water park.

Nebug water park was the first in Russia. He began to receive guests in 1997, and since then has been modernized several times. Water rides, pools and slides occupy a well-groomed green territory of 3 hectares. Several attractions – “Three Stripes”, “Black Hole”, “Kamikaze Extreme” and “Kamikaze Abyss” – are designed for thrill-seekers, while most of the water slides are family-oriented.

For children there is a special play area in the form of a pirate ship, where they can stand on the captain’s bridge, climb rope ladders and slide down the slides into the water. For kids in the water park built entertaining game complexes, like an old fortress and a picturesque gingerbread house, and there is a special shallow pool, near which animators are constantly working.

Adult visitors can ride water slides up to 15 meters high, swim in the family pool and lazy river, sunbathe and have a great time in the cafe or cocktail bar. Aquapark in Nebug allows you to stretch yourself by playing water soccer or during aqua aerobics classes. And in the evening on the dance floor every day there is a foam disco.

The price of a ticket to the water park, in addition to the use of water attractions and pools, includes insurance and services. Visitors have access to changing rooms, toilets, showers, deck chairs and inflatable swimming laps. Toddlers under 5 years old can visit the aquatic center for free, and children under 135 cm tall can use a child’s ticket.

Ice Palace

One of Nebug’s unusual entertainments was built in 2007. It is a large, dome-covered modern ice complex, where you can skate all year round. The huge tent structure consists of an ice arena and a rollerdrome. And the ice palace is located in the back of the village, on Sportivnaya Street, 12.

How to get there

Through the resort village of Nebug passes the federal highway M27, connecting Dzhubga and Sochi. It is not difficult to get to Nebug by private car. The nearest railway station is located 16 km away, in Tuapse. From here you can get to Nebug by shuttle buses or cabs. It should be borne in mind that the Tuapse bus station is 400 m away from the railway station.

If you get to rest by plane, it is better to arrive in Krasnodar (160 km). Krasnodar airport takes more flights, and tickets there are cheaper than for airplanes to Adler. From Krasnodar to Nebug usually come by cab, but you can also get there by intercity buses to Sochi or Tuapse. To do this, from the airport you first need to arrive at the Krasnodar bus station, which is located next to the railway station. From the airport to the bus station there are trolleybuses and marshrutkas.

Through Nebug passes many intercity buses to Sochi (or Tuapse) – from Novorossiysk, Anapa, Stavropol, Rostov-on-Don and Crimea. A stop in the resort village is on demand.
