Museum of Bells in Valdai
The Museum of Bells is located in the Novgorod region, in the town of Valday, on Truda Street, in the 18th-century church of Great Martyr Catherine. It was opened in 1995. The exposition widely presents material on the history of both the bells themselves and the technologies of bell casting in Russia and other countries. It also tells about various techniques of bell ringing. Special attention is paid to the history of Valdai bells. According to the legend, they were made from fragments of Novgorod Veche bells, so they were very tinkling and served for centuries. After a tour of the Valdai museum, visitors are allowed to ring some of the bells.
