Moscow House of Photography (Multimedia Art Museum)

Moscow House of Photography is a museum and exhibition complex located in an old mansion on Ostozhenka Street. The MDF was founded in 1996 by the Moscow Government on the initiative of Olga Sviblova, who became its director. In 2003 the Moscow House of Photography became a part of the Multimedia Art Museum. The House of Photography in the center of the capital is never empty: visitors spend hours walking around the 7-storey building looking at the works of Russian and foreign photographers. In addition to exhibitions of individual authors, the Fotobiennale takes place every two years. The second major project is the “Fashion and Style in Photography” festival, which was held for the 8th time in 2013. It also hosts lectures and educational classes for those who want to learn to understand contemporary art.
