Monument to I. A. Krylov in Moscow

Monument to Krylov in Moscow is an expressive monument to the famous Russian publicist and fable writer, located in a park near Patriarch’s Ponds. The monument was unveiled in 1976. The author of the monument Andrei Alexandrovich Drevin depicted the poet sitting on a park bench. The figure of Ivan Andreyevich Krylov has an undoubted portrait resemblance to the poet. He looks as his friends described him – a kind, plump, slightly lazy and unkempt man who is tired and has sat down to rest under the crowns of trees. The bronze figure rises above a rectangular low granite pedestal.
