Lake Palić

Lake Palić is located in Serbia, 8 km from the city of Subotica and 170 km from the capital Belgrade. By origin, Palić is a remnant of the Pannonian Sea. Settlements on the shores of the lake existed as far back as the Bronze Age. Lake Palić is called “the blue eye of the Serbian breadbasket”. Its bottom contains therapeutic mud, and there are also mineral springs, which made the place a balneological resort. In fact, the word “Palić” has three different meanings at once: it is a lake, a town near it, and a specially protected area located in this area.
