Krypetsky St. John the Theologian Monastery
Krypetsky Monastery is located in the Pskov region, 22 km from Pskov. The male monastery of the Pskov diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church is a model of the traditional pious way of life. The monastery was founded by an Athonite monk, Venerable Savva Krypetsky in 1485, among forest swamps in a tract called Kryptsy. Its first temple was made of wood. At present there is a holy spring at St. John the Theologian Krypetsky Monastery, and in the church, built in place of the wooden one in 1557, rest the relics of the Monk Savva and Cornelius of Krypetsky.
