Fort Qaitbay (Citadel of Qaitbay)
Qait Bay is a fortress in Egypt located on the ruins of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the ancient lighthouse at Alexandria. It was laid out in 1477 by the Mamluk sultan Al-Ashraf Seif-ud-Din Qayt Bey. Legends say that the remains of the Alexandria Lighthouse were used in its construction. The fortress of Qait Bey has the appearance of a massive fort with large rough towers and loopholes with access to the sea.
