Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court is a royal residence, palace and park in the United Kingdom. It is located on the left bank of the River Thames, in the Richmond-upon-Thames district, 18 km from central London. Hampton Court was built around 1514 for the king’s favorite – Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, who in 1529 gave the palace as a gift to Henry VIII. The architecture and interiors of the palace are in the spirit of classicism and give a full picture of the life of the English monarchs of the 16th and 18th centuries.
