Garage Museum of Contemporary Art
Garage Museum of Contemporary Art is the leading museum of contemporary art in Russia and the country’s first philanthropic organization aimed at the development of contemporary art and culture. “Garage” was founded in 2008 by Daria Zhukova and Roman Abramovich. The museum is located in Gorky Park. The center acts as an independent cultural platform for the development of new thinking through exhibition, educational and scientific activities. It received its modern name on May 1, 2014, when the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture was renamed the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. This reflects the main goal of the museum’s co-founders – to introduce visitors to works by living artists and materials on art history.
