Literary and Memorial Museum of F.M. Dostoevsky

The Dostoevsky Memorial Museum was opened in 1971, on the 150th anniversary of his birth. It is located in a house on Kuzchny Lane, in the writer’s last apartment, in the old neighborhood of St. Petersburg, where the action of many of his novels takes place. The apartment has been restored based on archival materials and recollections of contemporaries. Here Dostoevsky completed the novel “The Brothers Karamazov”, which brought him public recognition as a spiritual teacher, “ruler of thoughts.”
