Castle Square in Warsaw

Castle Square in Warsaw is the gateway to the Old Town. All the buildings on it were restored after World War II, as a result of which the Old Town was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the square stands a column in honor of Sigismund III, who moved the capital from Krakow to Warsaw in 1596. On the eastern side of Castle Square is the imposing Royal Castle.
