Bukovel resort

Bukovel is one of the most famous Ukrainian ski resorts. It is located at an altitude of more than 900 meters near the village of Polyanitsa, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Unique natural and climatic conditions have brought it truly world fame: every year Bukovel receives more than a million visitors from different parts of Ukraine, as well as from other countries. The winter tourist season here starts from the end of November and lasts until April.

The mountains of Bukovel, Bulchnioha, Dovga, Babin Pogar and Chernaya Kleva, on which the resort is located, although not the highest in the region, their slopes are perfect for extreme sports. If precipitation is delayed, but thermometers show stable -2°C … -7°C, snow cannons are used, which in a few days bring the slopes of Bukovel to full readiness. In addition, at the foot of the mountains there is a special equipment that reflects the sun’s rays. Thanks to this, the snow on the slopes melts very slowly.

Winter season in Bukovel

Bukovel offers 63 ski slopes with a total length of 55 km. All of them are of different levels of difficulty: blue – for beginners, red – for confident skiers and snowboarders, black – for athletes with excellent training. The longest of them are №14 (Babin Pogar, 1180 m), №12 (Dovga, 1372 m) and №2 (Bukovel, 1127 m). Those who have no experience at all can ask for professional help. Specially trained instructors offer individual and group lessons for people of all age categories with different levels of training. There are separate safe tracks for children – the kids will be under close supervision and will soon be able to please their parents with their first successes.

Bukovel in summer

Vacation in Bukovel in the summer is not only clean air and beautiful nature, but also a wide range of entertainment that will make your vacation or vacations unforgettable. For example, you can rent a bicycle and go to conquer the trails of Bukovel Bike Park. The park offers two types of routes: recreational and downhill.

The best time to visit Bukovel is during the winter holidays: Christmas, Old New Year, Epiphany. Vacationers can plunge into the atmosphere of folk festivities with songs, dances and traditional rituals. On ordinary days you can visit the school of Hutsul crafts and learn crafts: wood carving, pottery and cross-stitch embroidery.

How to get to Bukovel and where to stay

Since Bukovel is located high in the mountains, there is no direct transportation to it. It will be most convenient to go to Ivano-Frankivsk, and from there by bus from station number 2 (departure at 10:15) or by shuttle bus, which run every half hour. If the road leads through Lviv, you will have to go to the town of Yaremche, and from there there are direct buses.
