Bobrovy Log Fan Park

Bobrovy Log is a large sports and entertainment complex in Krasnoyarsk. The fan park is located in the southern part of the city, on the border with the State Reserve “Stolby”. For more than 10 years thousands of residents of the Krasnoyarsk region and tourists have been coming here to spend their time actively and healthily, while enjoying the beauty of Siberian landscapes. The park “Bobrovy Log” is open all year round, working in winter as a ski resort, and in summer – gathering vacationers for picnics, extreme sports, hiking, biking and horseback riding.

    History of Beaver Lodge

    The “Beaver Log” fanpark, for all its popularity, is quite young. The idea of the large-scale project belongs to the local administration, and Norilsk Nickel took an active part in its financing. Of course, it would be impossible to build such an all-season complex in the northernmost permanently populated city on the planet, but Krasnoyarsk, which is located in more favorable climatic conditions, suited the investors just fine. The territory of more than 80 hectares allocated for the park is adjacent to the state nature reserve “Krasnoyarsk Pillars”, which only increases the tourist attractiveness and recreational value of this place.

    The first part of the “Bobrovy Log”, the ski resort, was opened to the public on December 3, 2006. In July 2007, the summer section was put into operation, which 12 months later was supplemented with new rides and a fully equipped picnic area. Since then, a visit to the Bobrovy Log fan park is almost an obligatory part of the “cultural program” for honored guests of the region, celebrities and ordinary Russians who come to visit relatives or friends.

    Winter Fun

    The review is worth starting with the cold season, if only because it was the ski slopes that started the park’s glorious journey. Today, there are 14 slopes in “Beaver Lodge”. 9 of them are certified by the International Ski Federation and can be used for competitions among professional athletes. In March 2019, Beaver Log will host participants of the 29th Winter Universiade from 24 countries in Europe and Asia.

    Summer vacation

    When the warmth finally comes into its own, the preferences of the guests of the Beaver Log Fun Park regarding the ideal vacation also change. It turns out that for the sake of relaxing sunbathing and swimming is not necessarily rush to the sea. Beach complex “Mirage” can boast a round pool with a diameter of 36 meters, the water in which is heated to a comfortable level at any air temperature. Staying here is made even more pleasant by bright loungers, comfortable showers and dressing rooms, “TURBO-bar” with refreshing cocktails and panoramic views of the greenery-covered surroundings.

    From this point, hiking routes along the part of the reserve open to visitors start. The nearest place of attraction for visitors is Mount Takmak, which is less than a kilometer away on a wide trail. There are much longer walking options. For fans of ecotourism, such a pastime will certainly leave the most pleasant impressions of visiting “Beaver’s Den.”

    For those who have a big appetite in the fresh air and have some homemade delicacies in their basket, it makes sense to pay attention to the equipped picnic area with gazebos. The tent-bar “Wigwam” is always ready to feed guests, and in the tea yurt you can taste traditional infusion on Siberian herbs with natural sweets.

    Thrill-seekers in the “Bobrovy Log” fan park will not be offended either, because the natural mountainous terrain was used to create extreme attractions “Ziprider” and “Rodelbahn”. The first one is a descent in safety equipment on a cable with a length of 1000 meters. The daredevil develops speed up to 90 km/h and gets a powerful adrenaline charge. The creators of the second one crossed bobsled and roller coaster to get a sled that rushes along the rails and is controlled only by handbrake. Test your nerves!

    If you came to Krasnoyarsk for a short time, you can combine your stay in “Beaver Log” with a visit to the nature reserve “Krasnoyarsk Pillars” and the zoo “Roev Ruchey” – one of the most impressive in the country in terms of size and number of species represented.

    Krasnoyarsk is dotted not only with huge trees, but also with syenite remnants – single rocks of igneous rocks, which over hundreds of thousands of years of their existence have acquired bizarre shapes due to the efforts of wind and sun. Thanks to human imagination, almost each of them has its own name. It is not difficult to guess who or what the Chinese Wall, Savage, Grandfather, Grandmother, Granddaughter, Sparrows, Fortress, Vultures, Feathers remind of, but to see with your own eyes the result of the work of tireless sculptors is much more interesting than to look at their photos. A special way of communicating with nature for many locals for 150 years is conquering seemingly unapproachable stone blocks without special mountaineering equipment. However, without experience and skill acquired over the years, such ascents should not be repeated!

    “Roev Ruchey” in the middle of the last century began with a small “living corner” for wild animals saved from poachers or banal human carelessness. At that time it was only about the fauna typical for the region. Today the zoo staff takes care of representatives of 720 species of animals from different continents, and its area exceeds 50 hectares.

    Visitors to the zoo can see kangaroos, lemurs, chimpanzees, beavers, gerbils, porcupines, several species of bears and wolves, jackals, capybaras, camels, mongooses, wolverines, Amur tigers, snow leopards, tapirs, bison, guanacos, ocelots, giraffes and many other animals. In the spacious penguinarium African, Papuan and Peruvian representatives of flightless birds stroll amiably, and in aviaries and winter apartments at different times of the year live hundreds of different birds, including emus, pelicans, storks, herons, flamingos, cranes, eagles, vultures and a motley company of parrots. Special mention should be made of the giant aquaterrarium with the most interesting inhabitants of the mysterious depths of the seas and oceans of our planet.

    How to get there

    One of the attractive features of “Beaver’s Lair” is its convenient location right in the city limits. Bus No. 37 goes through the railway station, the historical center, the Oktyabrsky Bridge and a significant part of the blocks on the right bank of the Yenisei River to the “Fanpark” stop. There are other municipal routes in this direction, but from the stop “Bazaikha” will have to walk a kilometer and a half.

    To Krasnoyarsk itself, non-resident guests can get to Krasnoyarsk by train or by flight. If you go from Moscow, it is worth considering that in the first case the road will take almost three days, and the plane will deliver to the destination in about 5 hours.
