Betta Khutor

Betta is a small picturesque village on the Black Sea coast, part of the coastal zone of the resort town of Gelendzhik. Resort village is remote from the city 46 km to the south and is located far from busy highways, so in and around Betta preserved a clean natural zone. In the village and near it in abundance grow Crimean and pizundskie pines, junipers, thuys and acacias.

Highlights

Translated from the Adygean language, Betta means “humpbacked”. Most likely, such a name the settlement received because of the hilly terrain surrounding it. The history of Betta began in 1896, when mining workers who came to the southern borders of the Russian state for work settled here.

Legally, Betta has the status of a farm, which is permanently inhabited by about 1000 people. Local residents are actively engaged in growing apples and peaches, so that in the summer no one is left without inexpensive fruit. Houses and streets are built in the valley of the river of the same name, which flows into the Black Sea. From the west, the nearest neighbor of Betta is the resort village of Krinitsa, and from the east – Arkhipo-Osipovka.

Tourists appreciate these places for good pebble beaches, clear sea, lush green surroundings, developed infrastructure and budget vacation. Even in the peak tourist season vacation in the resort village is cheaper than in Gelendzhik itself, and even more so in Sochi.

Beaches of Betta

Betty’s municipal beach is located in the center of the resort village and you can get to it along Podgornaya Street. To get to the observation deck, you need to cross the bridge to the left bank of the Betta River and climb up the stairs.

Another interesting place is the blue staircase leading from the vacation home on top of the ridge to the wild beach. The staircase was built in the middle of the last century and is called “blue” by the color of the railing. It is laid on a fairly steep slope and has over 300 steps.

On the western outskirts of the resort village is Cape Chugovkopas, from the top of which opens a beautiful panorama of forested ridges and the sea coast. The steep slopes of Chugovkapas are covered with coniferous trees. To admire this picturesque place come almost all tourists staying in Betta.

In Betta there are many places where you can have a snack, a dense lunch or dinner in the company of friends. During the summer season in the resort village works about two dozen canteens, cafes, restaurants, bars, cheburechnaya and bistros, designed for tourists. This is a beautiful resort city, where there is an arranged waterfront, two modern water parks, dolphinarium, history and local history museum, amusement park, entertainment complex “Olympus” and a large safari park. How to get there

The nearest airport to Betta is in Gelendzhik. However, only planes from Moscow fly to this city. From other Russian cities, you can fly to Krasnodar airport, located 167 km from Betta.

To get from Krasnodar to Betta, from the city bus station by shuttle bus to Pshada, and from there get to the resort village by cab. From Gelendzhik to Betta there are buses and cabs.

If you get from the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus by train, you need to go to Novorossiysk. From this city there are several options for access to Betta. The simplest, but not cheap – directly from the railway station to leave by cab (86 km). In addition, you can take public transportation to Novorossiysk bus station, from there you can take a shuttle bus to Gelendzhik, and from Gelendzhik to Betta take a shuttle bus or cab.
