Resurrection Belogorsky Belogorsky Monastery

Voskresensky Belogorsky Monastery is a cave monastery of the Rossoshanskaya and Ostrogozhskaya Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church, located near the farm Kirpichi in Voronezh Oblast. The monastery was founded by the first abbess Maria Sherstyukova in 1796. The Resurrection Belogorsky Monastery occupies a place on the very top of a chalk hill. Belogorsk caves began to be dug out by local residents, firmly believing that they were doing a good deed. People began to come here in order to wash away their sins. Gradually the Belogorskaya community built several temples, a stone bell tower and buildings for ascetics.
