Ancient city Babylon
Babylon is a ruin located on the outskirts of the city of Al-Hilla in Iraq, 90 kilometers south of Baghdad. First mentioned in the third millennium BC, as one of the cities of ancient Mesopotamia, located in the historical region of Akkad, political, economic and cultural center of the ancient world, one of the largest cities in human history, “the first metropolis”, a famous symbol of Christian eschatology and modern culture. Babylon was destroyed in the first millennium BC.
