Wood Buffalo National Park

Wood Buffalo National Park straddles the border between Alberta and the Northwest Territories, founded in 1922 to save the bison. The goal was achieved, and now you can admire these beautiful animals by hiking a special “bison trail”. Wood Buffalo Park is one of the largest in the world. Covering an area of 44,807 km², it encompasses forests, grasslands, sinkholes and a unique salt flat.
