Tula Regional Exotarium

Tula Exotarium is a specialized zoo of reptiles and amphibians. Every year it is visited by about 90,000 people. The exotarium in Tula was founded in 1987 and, at present, it has one of the largest collections of snakes in the world, totaling 497 species and subspecies. The symbol of the zoo is the long-nosed bushy-nosed polos (Rhynchophis boulangeri), which was once considered extinct, but was still found in the wild, brought to Tula, where it managed to get offspring from it. At the entrance to the exotarium is a statue of Tyrannosaurus, which among the citizens has the unofficial name “Monument to the mother-in-law.”
