Swedish Gate in Riga

Swedish Gate in Riga is a cultural monument located on Tornja Street. The Swedish Gate was pierced in 1698, in the wall of a dwelling house, in order to equip a locked passage. It is the only gate in the city that has survived in its original form to this day. Houses No. 11, No. 13 and No. 15 at the Swedish Gate are part of the ensemble of the House of Architects. In addition to the Latvian Union of Architects, there is a library here, entrance to which is free.
