Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia is part of the Lesser Antilles and is washed by the Caribbean Sea to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. St. Lucia is home to a state of the same name, with its capital in the city of Castries. The island has an area of 616 km². The east coast of St. Lucia is dotted with small hotels, bungalows and guesthouses stretching between Micoud and Anse-Noire. The beaches here are fairly secluded. The west coast, between Vieux Faure and Gros-Ileme, has resorts that look more like the Mediterranean than a tropical island. Many first-class hotels, restaurants and well-equipped beaches framed by lush Caribbean vegetation are open to tourists.
