Ceram Sea
Ceram, Ceram is an inter-island sea in the Malay Archipelago, between the islands of Seram, Buru, Sula, Obi, Misool (belong to the Moluccas Islands) and Cendrawasih Peninsula (New Guinea). The area is 161 thousand km², water volume is 173 thousand km³, average depth is 1074 meters, the greatest depth is 5319 meters. The ground is sandy silt. There are numerous coral reefs near the shores. Average annual water temperature at the surface is 27-28 °С, salinity is about 34‰. Tides are irregular semi-daily, their magnitude from 1.7 to 2.3 meters.
