Sayano-Shushensky Biosphere Reserve
Sayano-Shushensky Reserve is located in the south of Krasnoyarsk Krai, in the inaccessible region of the Western Sayan, on the left bank of the Yenisei River. Its area is 3904 km². Most of the territory is covered with forest, where the rare Siberian cedar grows. The animal world of the Sayano-Shushensky Reserve is diverse, almost 100 species are rare, endangered and included in the Red Book. The snow leopard is of special value. The reserve is included in the international system of UNESCO biosphere reserves.
